Abstract:
With the launches of new SAR sensors, such as the German TerraSAR-X/TanDEM-X and the Italian COSMO-Skymed satellites, SAR remote sensing from space has made a big leap forward with a very high spatial resolution of up to 1 m, and hence open up for the first time opportunities to use SAR for 2-D, 3-D, 4-D (space-time) or even higher dimensional imaging of urban structures and individual buildings from space:1)The first 3-D and 4-D tomographic reconstructions of an entire building complex with very high level of detail from space-borne SAR data will be presented. 2)A compressive sensing based SL1MMER algorithm is proposed and compared to the convention non-parametric linear maxima a posterior reconstruction and parametric nonlinear least square method. 3)The “time warp” method is proposed that enables the tomographic motion estimation for all possible complex motion models.
